Dr James Law is a Consultant in Paediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK. Nottingham University Hospital’s Paediatric Diabetes Unit has consistently achieved the best HbA1C results in the UK for the last several years and is highly regarded as a centre of excellence. After finishing medical school at the University of Nottingham, Dr Law undertook medical training around the East Midlands and completed a PhD, studying the paediatric endocrine influences, including glycaemic control, on brown adipose tissue. He has a significant interest in education and training and is a member of the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health’s Diabetes & Endocrinology College Speciality Advisory Committee. He has ongoing clinical and research interests including type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease and metabolic bone disease and has recently completed a Clinical Fellowship in Metabolic Bone Disease at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He is currently a member of the National Paediatric Type 2 Diabetes Working Group, the British Society for Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology’s Thyroid Special Interest Group and the National Institute for Health Research’s Paediatric Endocrine Clinical Study Group.
