“Dr Khaysy Rassavong is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician, heading up the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Mahosot Hospital, Vientiane, Laos. He completed his training and fellowship in paediatrics in 2003 at the University of Health Sciences of Lao PDR.
He has over 30 years of experience in managing critical conditions in children and neonates, providing medical treatment for those treated in PICU. Dr Khaysy was instrumental in the establishment of PICU in Mahosot Hospital and the development of policy for paediatric critical care. He was also involved in various PICU training for doctors and nurses in other provincial hospitals, improving access to critical care for children in Laos. Beside this, he has special interest in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) care that he attended training in Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand and set up the T1D care team in Mahosot Hospital.”
